Darren James

With a passion for creating functional yet beautiful things from a young age, and following in the tradition of his Grandfather, James pursued a trade in cabinetmaking – manufacturing and installing timber joinery on luxury boats. Trained in the craft by Danish artesian, James developed a vivid eye for detail and vocation for quality. His skills were highly recognized and soon the clients of the boats he was fitting out were asking him to complete work in their homes. The demand not only for his skills, but his planning, style and aesthetic concepts grew and in 2000 James established his own business servicing the medium-high residential market. All of his business generated solely through word of mouth.

In 2004, in James workshop, Interiors By Darren James was officially founded. The following years saw the company grow and achieve recognition for producing the highest quality kitchens – kitchens that were central to family living. James impressive and well deserved reputation for delivering a quality finish that incorporates his client's personality and style as well as his commitment to providing the finest workmanship and professionalism has quickly become recognizable and a trademark for the business.

But it’s to the future that Interiors By Darren James looks. The knowledge that comes with our traditional technical skills and our commitment to creating unconventional personalised interior space is what pushes us constantly forward in growth and development. We seek to combine the latest European kitchen trends with Australian functionality, avant-garde design and innovative solutions; these are our ideals. We have travelled far in such a short time, but never have we lost touch with the quality craftsmanship that Darren James established; it has become a part of our DNA.
